PEACE BE UPON YOU To make Chane ki dal we need a pressure cooker you can take more or less oil as per your preferences fry for half a minute and then add the onions We will not make the onions golden brown, just saute till they become pink

keep the flame medium be careful if you keep the flame high the onions might burn i will be taking 3/4 cup chana dal you can take 150 gms dal also if you like i have soaked the dal for one hour Chana dal takes time to soak properly hence i have soaked it before an hour You can soak in warm water if you want it to be ready in 15 to 20 minutes

The spices that we use in it like cardamoms, cloves, cinnamons they enhance the flavour of the dal and of course the taste is better This can be prepared quite fast Once you pre soak the dal then it hardly takes about 10 minutes to cook Onions have turned pink now After adding we will fry it with the onions on a high flame

When you add the dal please make sure that it dosnt contain water Please drain the water before adding it here We have fried the dal for about 4 to 5 minutes We will cook the spices well on a low flame We will not increase the flame other wise the spices will be over cooked or burnt i am adding a little water here Now it the time to increase the flame and cook it if you feel its dry then you can add little water in intervals while cooking

we have cooked it for 3 to 4 minutes i can smell the nice aroma and the spices too seem to have been cooked The oil too has separated Now we will reduce the flame and add one cup water i have increased the flame now

we will add the remaining ingredients and pressure cook If you dont eat spicy please do not add the green chillies This garam masala powder is home made You will find the link below mix well we will now pressure cook on a high flame till one whistle After pressure cooking till one whistle put off the flame and let it lie for 10 to 15 minutes so that the pressure releases

This is the perfect gravy that we need It will thicken once it cools You can enjoy this eating rice too Dried mango powder On the flame now Cook on a low flame for 1 to 2 minutes Then it will be ready to serve
