CHICKPEA SALAD | easy, vegan chickpea salad recipe

hello my friends is Dani and hoi I'm showing you how to do a simple chickpea salad which is one of my favorites favorites is very easy to do and it's so versatile it is the most flexible recipe is always a great way to pair your pantry is basic with whatever is fresh vegetables or herbs you have on hand Think of this recipe as a plan and then make it yours so in a nice big bowl i'm starting with a 15 ounce can of chickpeas are also called chickpeas i like to drain the beans and then rinse them well beforehand this way we are washing any additional sodium and we get to stay in control of all our ingredients now I have been asked by some people in the past can I eat raw chickpeas and the answer it's not like any bean you don't want eat them raw but whenever you are buying them in a jar or a can like me here they are already cooked so that you don't have to worry about heating them or cook you can eat them straight from the jar are nice and soft and ready to go so that's what I'm adding a cup of chopped bell pepper now whenever I can I try to mix and combine the colors just because it's beautiful but of course wear whatever you have at hand all the colors work then I take half a cup of finely diced red onion that has a nice sweet taste and adds great texture a tooth crushed garlic and then 1/4 cup Kalamata chopped black olives that they are nice, rich, salty and delicious then to season this salad I add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil this is where you want to use the good stuff and a tablespoon of red wine vinegar give it a big handful of fresh chopped basil which is the wow factor in this salad every time you add fresh herbs you're going to raise your plate even when is the simplest dish and then I'm going to season that with a little bit of salt and black pepper gently stir all of this together let all those ingredients meet in the bowl have a nice light seasoning coating and this salad is ready to go now again I want take into account tons of different vegetables would work here what could you do celery you could make cucumbers you can do something finely chopped spinach you can change the herbs if you don't have olives you could do something capers or maybe some feta cheese cheese I can't emphasize enough how flexible this plate is and how can you take so many different ingredients and make it work and end with a beautifully simple and delicious chickpea salad that would be perfect if you were going to sit outside and maybe a little grill or barbecue too lovely as a garnish if you're baking some chicken or maybe make some fish and personally I also love it for food preparation is an excellent starting ingredient and it's one of those salads where the the longer it stays in the fridge, the more flavors develop and the more delicious it becomes so this is really simple I'm excited to see you guys do this in your own kitchens when take a photo and tag me Instagram and Facebook so you can see all the cleanliness and delight you are tearing up in your own kitchens I'd appreciate it if you took a minute to subscribe and share this video with someone else you know you want facilitate healthy eating, thank you very much a lot to look at I'm danny soubise and i will see you here next time with a little more cleaning and delicacies Greetings perfect favorites for all of this and some vegetables or hahaha this is fun you
