Chole Pulao Recipe |Chickpeas Rice Combination Dish|Quick and Easy Meal Recipe| Basic Cooking Recipe

today we are making chole pulao, a combination dish prepared with white chickpeas/garbanzo beans and rice ingredients and quantities are listed in the description box let us see what is needed 2

5-3 tbsp oil 1 cup boiled white chickpeas/garbanzo beans to boil the chickpeas soak overnight in water next morning drain out water, put in a pressure cooker add 4 cups fresh water and cook for 10 minutes after the first whistle on low heat then put off the heat when pressure subsides drain out the water

the chickpeas should soften just enough to yield to a slight pressure as shown this is the water which was drained after the chickpeas were boiled we will save this and use it in the rice later 15 cups rice soaked for 15 to 20 minutes in water and the water drained out since we have taken 15 cups rice we will use 3 cups of the saved water in which the chickpeas were boiled 1 tsp ginger paste & 1 tsp garlic paste 2 med-sized chopped tomatoes 2 med-sized chopped onions 1 chopped green chilli you can use more if you wish 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2 tsp if using whole spices as we are doing

if not, add 3/4-1 tsp of it 25 to 3 tsp salt/to taste salt 1/2 tsp red chili powder 1/4 tsp turmeric powder this is homemade click the link on the screen to watch how to make it some whole spices – 2 bay leaves, 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder, 1 tsp cumin seeds,4 cloves, and 1 crushed black cardamom we will start preparing the chole pulao now add oil to a kadhai keep the heat on medium and let it get hot reduce heat to low and put in all the whole spices saute for 1/2 a minute raise heat to medium and put in the chopped onions saute until they turn light pink this took about 2 minutes put in the ginger & garlic pastes saute until they turn light brown

keep the heat around low-medium you can reduce the heat further if needed this took about a minute add in the chopped green chilli & tomatoes cook until the tomatoes turn soft keep stirring after about 2 minutes the tomatoes have softened put in the boiled chickpeas and mix well and now put in the salt, turmeric powder,garam masala, coriander powder and red chilli powder stir until the spices combine nicely and saute for about 2 minutes so that the chickpeas & spices, too, get roasted we roasted the chickpeas and the spices for about 3 minutes add in the soaked rice and mix well add in the saved water, in which the chickpeas were boiled these are 3 cups, double the quantity of rice raise heat to high, stir nicely and let the water start to boil the water has started to boil reduce heat to low and cover with a lid cook for 15 minutes but check back after 10 minutes do not stir while the rice is cooking if at all you need to check the rice check it at the edge only as we will show after 10 minutes when we check it after 10 minutes, you can see there is still a little water

we will cook it for another 5 minutes 1 cup of rice takes 10 minutes to cook and 15 cups of rice will take 15 minutes after 15 minutes our rice is done the water has dried put off the heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes after 5 minutes the chana pulao is ready to serve serve the chana pulao this is a very easy dish to prepare this recipe is very useful for those who are working students who cook for themselves and those who need an easy chole pulao recipe if you wish to skip the whole spices for any reason just increase the garam masala powder add 1 tsp of garam masala instead of the 1/2 tsp we have added in this recipe your dish will taste as good do try this dish and give your feedback have this pulao with plain yogurt or with any raita of your choice or even by itself
