Delhi Dahi Bhalla | South Indian Style Dahi Bhalla | Chaat Recipe



Hello friends! I'm Manju Mittal and welcome you all Today we'll make Dahi Bhalle, which is everyone's favourite To make this we need washed urad dal (lentils) I took 1/2 a cup of lentils and soaked it in water for 2 hours remove the extra water from the lentils and grind it lentils are well grinded now put some ginger (finely chopped) you can also grind this before putting but I have a taste preference for the pieces put some green chilli (finely chopped) and put 1/2 a teaspoon of salt mix all together if you put one small teaspoon of hot oil then your bhalle will be softer put one small teaspoon of oil and mix it well you'll notice that the lentils have become very soft because if your lentils are hard then the bhalle will also be hard and tight so the lentils should be soft the oil we now use should be hot because if it's not hot, then the bhalle will not expand so let the oil heat and then put bhalle you can put the bhalle using a spoon or with your hands if using hands, grease them with oil now the bhalle won't stick to your hands so let's now make bhalle from these lentils take small quantity of the lentils because the bhalle will also expand later when we put them in water then it'll become softer and increase in size don't put too many bhalles together because they need some space to fry so we'll only put these many at once if you put them in slightly warm water then it'll soak the extra oil and also make the bhalle softer let's beat the curd till the bhalle are soaking in water we have to divide this curd into two parts if you're wondering why, then I'll tell you this at the time of serving we've kept half the curd separately now take one spoonful of powdered sugar one teaspoon of salt mix both together we have to now temper the curd for our South Indian style Dahi Bhalles for tempering use one teaspoon of vegetable oil use some mustard seeds the seeds have started crackling put this in the curd mix well together put the soaked bhalle in the curd we'll put half of the bhalles here and save the rest squeeze them well before using to get rid of the extra water South Indian style tempered Dahi Bhalle are now ready let's now prepare the Delhi Chaat style Dahi Bhalle use one teaspoon of powdered sugar 1/2 a teaspoon of salt 1/2 a teaspoon of red chilli powder 1/2 a teaspoon of roasted cumin powder mix all together squeeze the remaining bhalles and put them in the curd now the Delhi style Dahi Bhalle are also ready now I'll show you the serving style we'll be serving the Delhi style Dahi Bhalle in this bowl serve the bhalla a lot of curd and ensure that the curd is cold because it tastes really well then put some green chutney to taste and also some sweet chutney a pinch of salt little red chilli powder and slight roasted cumin powder and some coriander to go with it makes it look tastier the Delhi Dahi Bhalle are completely ready now let's prepare the South Indian style Dahi Bhalle we need one more bowl for this we'll put the tempered bhalle in this put some nice & crunchy boondi right before serving some pomegranate seeds and some coriander now our South Indian style Dahi Bhalle are ready let us know which of the two variants you liked more in our comments section and do subscribe to our channel
