Today I'm going to teach you how to make this really nice chocolate pastry! pastry, but if you wanted to you could make your own Open it up and roll it out flat For the filling it's nice and simple We're just going to use a slab of dark chocolate unwrap it
And place it onto the puff pastry a few inches from the edge and we want the same amount of it on each side so slice off the excess and place it to one side Next we need to use our knife to put a series of cuts in our pastry at a slight angle Going up along the side of the chocolate like this And do the same on the other side Then chop off the corners of the pastry like this And fold over the top and the bottom Next we need to fold over the top strip of pastry on to the chocolate And overlap the one on the other side Then work your way all the way up 🙃 like this Tidy It Up if you need to and that's our lattice finished Pretty cool huh? Take an oven tray and lightly grease it with some butter, then carefully place onto your pastry Next we need to take some egg yolk and brush a coating over the top of our lattice This will help it look nice and gold when it's baked When you're done, you can take some flaked almonds And sprinkle them over the top! I'm also crushing some up in my hand to sprinkle these over as well And there we are it's ready to bake I put mine in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius Which is about 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes When it's nicely golden and baked all the way through take it out and leave it to cool for a minute or so It looks and smells amazing Once it cools down a touch I moved it onto a chopping board And sliced it ready to serve It's lovely and rich with nice warm chocolate And it tastes amazing It goes really well with a cup of coffee, and it really is easy to make And if you don't eat it all at once you can warm it back up in the microwave for a minute I Done!? if you want to see more you can click on the links or take a look at my Youtube channel page Stay safe, have fun, and as always, thanks for watching!
