Hi everyone! Welcome to Cooking Up Love! On today's show, we're making Caramelized French Onion Dip This is the best onion dip, and it's the perfect appetizer for any party – fancy parties, BBQs, Super Bowl parties
seriously, who doesn't love French onion dip with kettle chips and fresh veggies?! Our version of homemade onion dip is fast, easy and tastes amazing! It's so much better than anything you'll find in the store, and it's even better when you make it the day before and let the flavors meld overnight in the refrigerator Peel and slice 3 medium onions It sounds like a lot of onions, but they shrink down while cooking
In a cast-iron skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat Today we've got a bunch of friends getting together to kick off summer break, and I'm taking this amazing dip to share This recipe can come together in less than 30 minutes if you chop the veggies while the onions are cooking, use pre-cut vegetables from the store, or decide to use just chips Add the onions, then spread the onions into a single layer in the pan Cook the onions until they're caramelized, about 15 minutes, and stir them every so often so they don't burn
We're looking for a nice deep, golden-brown color Lower the heat to medium low, and add 1 large clove of minced garlic, stirring to saute for about a minute Today's recipe is listed in the description And now for the ingredient that adds just that little bit of je ne sais quoi the secret is adding two tablespoons of brown sugar This keeps everyone guessing about what makes your dip so delicious! Stir the sugar into the onion mixture and cook for two minutes These onions are going to be dark, sweet, soft and very fragrant Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature
If you're short on time, you can cool the onions quickly by transferring them to a plate and putting into the freezer for five to ten minutes We have new videos every week, subscribe and ring the bell so you know when we've posted a new one! Mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce If you like this video give us a thumbs up, and if you tried this recipe tell us in the comments below! Chop the cooled caramelize onions into very fine pieces Reserve a small amount of chopped onions for topping the finished dip, if you like Fold the onions into the cream cheese mixture
Then season to taste with salt and pepper One of my very favorite snacks, since I was really young, has been potato chips with French onion dip Our caramelized onion dip recipe is a delicious homemade version that is so amazing! Savory caramelized onion with a little touch of sweetness that will keep everyone coming back for more! For today's event, I'm preparing it in plastic party dishes so people can continue to enjoy it at the party after we leave I'm adding a variety of vegetables today I'm taking broccoli, celery, carrots, and red pepper And of course, I'm adding in crunchy salt and pepper kettle chips Add the chips to your platter once you get to your destination so they stay crispy Okay, grab some chips and dive into this amazing dip!
