Let your steak(s) sit on the counter for about 20-30 minutes to bring them closer up to room temperature before cooking Have a beer while you wait
Turn the stove on high heat Add fat into your frying pan Put on a lid to keep heat and moisture in Flip your steaks multiple times during cooking, as this will allow them to cook faster (up to 30 %!) and more evenly Save time by cooking enough food to last multiple meals
Set the stove on low heat while you prepare your side dish I like to add dill on my (instant) mashed potatoes, but you may use eg butter, roasted garlic, or gravy Add plenty of ketchup
