WELCOME BACK WHERE IN THE KITCHEN COOKING LIKE WE ARE EVERY WEDNESDAY BUT TODAY'S SPECIAL BECAUSE WE ARE GETTING READY FOR THANKSGIVING

SOME OF THE IDEAS AND FOR SOME THE SIDES ARE THE FAVORITE PART YOU'RE RIGHT BECAUSE — I'M HAVING A REALLY HARD TIME DECIDING AND THANKSGIVING IS ONE WEEK AWAY AND I'M HAVING A HARD TIME DECIDING WHAT TO DO WITH SIDES MASHED POTATOES AND STUFFING ? STUFFING AND MY HOMEMADE CRANBERRY BUT EVERYTHING ELSE I TRY TO MIX IT UP AND MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE I'M NORMAL LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE WHEN IT COMES TO THE BIG FEAST OF THE YEAR I HAD A DREAM LAST NIGHT THAT I CAME HERE AND I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO COOK

AND I WAS STANDING HERE — I WOKE UP PANICKED BECAUSE I WAS ON THE AIR AND I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO COOK AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS MAKING AND IT OCCURRED TO ME MAYBE SOME PEOPLE FEEL THAT WAY ABOUT THANKSGIVING THE EXPECTATIONS ARE SO HIGH THAT THEY ARE AFRAID THAT THEY CAN'T DO IT THESE TWO RECIPES TODAY AND I MEAN THIS OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART ARE SO EASY AND SO EFFORTLESS THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER THEM ON YOUR THANKSGIVING TABLE I'M GOING TO BE MAKING TWO THINGS AT ONCE AND I'M NOT GOOD AT MULTITASKING I'M GOING TO DO A BUTTERNUT SQUASH AND PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM SALAD — NO

BRUSSEL SPROUTS WITH PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS AND THEN I'M DOING A BUTTERNUT SQUASH SALAD I HAD TO GET STARTED BECAUSE I HAD TO COOK THE PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS THIS IS A SIDE DISH I WANTED TO SHOW EVERYBODY THAT YOU JUST COOK THEM JUST UNTIL THEY ARE SOFT

THEN YOU TAKE THEM OUT OF THE PAN AND THE REASON I'M DOING IT THIS WAY THE SCHMETT I'M — I'M GOING TO PUT THIS HERE YOU WANT TO USE THE SAME EXACT PAN THAT YOUR COOKING THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS AND THAT YOU'VE ALREADY COOKED THE PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS AND — MUSHROOMS IN THIS CAN BE MADE THE DAY AHEAD NOW I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ADD MORE OLIVE OIL BECAUSE NOW I HAVE THE HEAT HIGH AND I'M GOING TO ADD TO THE SAME HAND MY OLIVE OIL AND I'M GOING TO ADD MY BRUSSEL SPROUTS

I HAVE TO ADD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF OIL BECAUSE I'M ALSO GOING TO COOK THE ONIONS WITH THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS I CUT THEM IN HALF I USUALLY ROAST BRUSSEL SPROUTS ME TOO I'M WITH YOU ON THIS BUT THIS IS ALL DONE AHEAD IN ADVANCE AND THIS IS RED ONIONS AND I'M THINKING THIS YEAR INSTEAD OF ROASTING THEM BECAUSE I LIKE TO ROAST MY BUTTERNUT SQUASH AND YAMS IN THE OVEN TOO AND I'M THINKING MAYBE I WILL DO THIS AS A SIDE DISH AND MIX IT UP

BUT THEN I REALLY LIKE THE SALAD I MAKING WITH THE BUTTERNUT SQUASH DO I DO THE SALAD — IF I HAVE TO GUESS HE WILL DO IT ALL I'M GOING TO MY SON'S HOUSE AND IN ALL HONESTY WE PLANNED THE MENU AND HIS MOTHER-IN-LAW CHIMED IN ON A TEXT AND SAID WHAT ABOUT A SALAD THANKS, MOTHER-IN-LAW THAT'S ALL RIGHT

I CAN DO IT I'M THINKING MAYBE I WILL DO A SALAD HARDIMAN AND GARLIC — HARDIMAN AND GARLIC POWDER I'M GOING TO LET — IF YOU DROP YOUR SALT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO TAKE THE SALT AND THROW IT OVER YOUR SHOULDER HOW DOES IT SMELL? DELICIOUS

NOW, LET'S GO OVER TO THE SALAD DRESSING FOR THE BUTTERNUT SQUASH WE WILL LEAVE THIS ALONE FOR A LITTLE WHILE APPLE JUICE OR APPLE CIDER I HAVE THE HEAT TURNED UP HIGH THIS IS CIDER VINAIGRETTE

YOU HAVE APPLE JUICE OR APPLE CIDER AND VINEGAR AND SOME SHALLOTS I LOVE SHALLOTS PAIN IN THE BUTT BUT I LOVE THEM DIJON MUSTARD AND WHAT I WANT TO DO WITH THE DIJON MUSTARD, APPLE JUICE, APPLE CIDER AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR ALLOWS THIS TO REDUCE AND PERIODICALLY COME BACK HERE AND GIVE THESE A STIR

I LOVE THE WHOLE BELL SLEEP TREND BUT NOT GOOD FOR THE KITCHEN I WANT TO TALK ABOUT BUTTERNUT SQUASH WE CAN COME BACK INTO THE BUTTERNUT SQUASH LET'S COME BACK AND I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT I'M GOING TO DO
